Instructors and site designers, please fill out this form to request a WebVista site.
Transition to Moodle
After August 31, 2012, WebVista and archived site data will cease to exist at the University of Minnesota. Moodle 2 will continue as the sole centrally-supported Course Management System at the University. Please plan accordingly.
Student Grades in WebVista
After August 31, 2012, student grades stored in WebVista will not be accessible. According to University policy, students may seek an explanation of a grade until the end of the following semester. The instructor is obligated to provide an explanation for a grade within a reasonable time if a request is made by the end of the following semester. The instructor is not obligated to reconsider the grade.
Although this policy does not allow students to challenge the merits of a grade; it is often helpful to have grading evidence if an explanation is requested. If you use WebVista for courses offered spring 2012 and summer 2012, you should download your grade book at the end of the term and keep it in an alternate, secure location in case a student inquires about a grade. There is no need to create backup copies of graded materials for courses offered prior to spring 2012, as these grades have passed beyond the time limit for seeking an explanation.
